SRI LANKA LURCHING FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS - AMARATUNGA
Sri Lanka lurching from crisis to crisis - Amaratunga

The upcoming Provincial Council election is the ideal opportunity for the public to express their resentment towards the ruling government, says UNP MP John Amaratunga.

He claimed that the latest establishment to come under the government’s intimidation is the country’s most superior institution – the court.

The Gampaha District MP stated that Sri Lanka is presently traveling from one crisis to another and that everything has become politicized.

The main reason for this situation is the doing away with the 17th amendment to the constitution, introduced during the UNP regime, and the implementation of the 18th amendment, Amaratunga said speaking at a press conference held at the Opposition Leader’s Office today.

The former Minister accused the government doing nothing for the relief of the masses, except for its personal benefit.
