September 03, 2010: The Sri Lanka Transport Board plans on increasing their services by 40 per cent by the end of the year.
Speaking to Newsfirst, M. D. Bandusena, chairman of the SLTB said that 1,500 buses would be added to the service by year end.
“In addition, 1,000 buses, which are not in running condition at present, will be repaired and put back into service,” said Bandusena.
The spare parts needed had already been imported and special concessions had been provided by the Treasury for the purpose, said the SLTB Chairman.
